Episode Fourty-Four - Full Horse

After a short hiatus, Oh, Deer... presented by Bo's Bar & Stage is BACK!

Our first episode of 2025 is a special one, as it's the very last episode we'll ever record at the Communal Creative Studios downtown location, as they've now moved into a brand spankin' new studio at Parkland Audio in Gasoline Alley!

Of course, we had to take a bit of a walk down memory lane, so we reminisce about some of our favourite in-studio moments, and then Ted tests everyone's Oh, Deer knowledge (or lack thereof) with a game of Title Trivia.

Episode Forty-Two - "That's Not How Uteruses Work"

For the first time in the history of this podcast, Ryan Lund was not present for a recording... which means things probably went a lot smoother and stayed on the rails, right? Wrong. 

With Walsh and Dustin also absent, it was a smaller, but still highly inappropriate crew for this episode (as the title suggests), which includes a surprise appearance by Communal Creative Studio's own Ryan Kuly, who hadn't been around for a recording in over two years. He hopped on the mic to share some stories from all his years as a sound tech for Bo's, playing gigs with One Bad Son, and most recently touring with the legendary Matt Good. (9:53)

Episode Forty - "I Had To Use My Backup Car Spoon"

After a slightly-extended Summer break, Episode 40 of Oh, Deer... presented by Bo's Bar & Stage is back! (And with a full house for the first in months, as Dustin and Andrew finally decided to grace us with their presence again)

We have two HUGE guests that we stumbled upon for this one, as we managed to trick former NHLers Colby Armstrong and Jarome Iginla into not only join us for a couple impromtu interviews during the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame Awards Gala in Red Deer... but also to play a quick round of Mad Gab (sorry... Gad Mab) with us, and the results are just as amazing as you'd expect.

On top of that, we catch up on what everyone's been up to this summer, chat about everyone's biggest pet peeves, and wrap things up with a game of 'Things in a Box', which, thanks in large part to Co-Worker Erin, gets real off the rails.

Episode Thirty-Nine - 'Brotox'

While we can't seem to iron all the wrinkles out of this podcast, a few of us at least got a few out of our faces as we paid a visit to our Episode 39 sponsor, Hebe Beauty Bar!

In a rare on-location interview, we chat with Owner/Nurse Injector Kendra Numan and Nurse Injector Samantha Stacey (8:04-1:00:28) about all the ins and outs of medical aesthetics, and end things off with Ted getting some botox mid-interview. 

As always, there's a bunch of other crap mixed in there too, as we Shoot the Breeze about bandwagon jumpers/spiteful hockey fans (1:00:28), discuss our favourite Summer movies (1:18:30), and play a game of Unmentionables... which like Taboo, but without any copyright infringements (1:45:02).

Episode Thirty-Eight - "That Game Ruined My Night"

We're a little later than usual, but Episode 38 of Oh, Deer... presented by Bo's Bar & Stage is here!

As Co-Worker Erin put it, it was a "very delicious episode", as we got to drink our custom cans of "Oh, Beer" from Red Hart Brewing for the first time, and sampled some incredible pastry and desserts from one of Red Deer's newest hot-spots, Arrae Pâtisserie.

And of course, we have our usual other crap to fill the time, including a discussion that every procrastinator can relate to, and every Type-A personality will cringe at(1:12:48), then we wrap things up with a game of 'Gad Mabs" (we changed the name to avoid a lawsuit, but you can do the math there), which, as the title of this episode incinuates, was very difficult (1:31:16).

Episode Thirty-Seven - Pop Stars & Pink Eye

We're mixing things up a bit for Episode Thirty-Seven of Oh, Deer... presented by Bo's Bar and Stage - but we promise it's just as good as any other episode... probably even better! (Not that the bar is too high)

With the Wannabe - A Spice Girls Tribute show at Bo's Bar & Stage coming up on April 25, we had a fantastic chat (7:54) with two of the founding members of Wannabe, sisters Barbara (Ginger Spice) and Cat (Baby Spice). If you don't already have tickets to the show... get on it!!! 

Sticking with the Spice Girls vibe, we also chat about some of the best songs of the 90's (1:15:18), and then we play a rigorous game of 'Spice or Science' (1:32:33),which is a lot more fun than it sounds. Hopefully.
